Meet Our Production Team

Nichols Brothers’ production philosophy is to offer each customer a high-quality craftsmanship vessel, the best value overall, and operational excellence. Nichols Brothers works hand-in-hand with Owner’s Representatives, naval architects, and with suppliers to ensure each vessel exceeds the Owner’s expectations. Our entire production and support teams, including on site engineering and project management teams are dedicated to the growing success of our company and our customer’s operations.  

Our outstanding team of professional ship builders has developed since the company’s was first formed.  We have all the skilled craftsmen, experience and support to build a wide portfolio of vessels, including ATB tugs, fishing vessels, high speed catamaran ferries and cruise ships.  The production team is supported by our scheduling and planning department, engineering support and others to ensure that all vessels are constructed on time and with the highest level of quality.

Nichols works hand in hand with the design engineering team and the customer from the earliest opportunity to ensure we understand the needs of the customer and to be able to provide the necessary upfront support to guarantee that the vessel meets the customer’s needs and is delivered on schedule

Mr. Zustiak is responsible for the successful execution of all new-build and repair construction programs at NBBB. He is also responsible for day-to-day facilities management.   He works closely with the Executive team to develop a build strategy, production schedule and execution plan.  All production crafts, Quality Assurance and Facility Planning report directly to Mr. Zustiak for overall performance, including safety, productivity and quality.  Mr. Zustiak joined the NBBB team in 1991 and has served many roles, with his most recent role as Project Manager for more than a decade. Nick is from Coupeville, Washington here on Whidbey Island, were he resides with his wife and two daughters.
