Meet our Engineering Team

Nichols Brothers Engineering team is a dedicated and qualified team with vast experience in the shipbuilding engineering industry. We have gathered a team across the industry nationwide who have done it all. We have engineering staff experienced in vessel construction from; tugs, fishing vessels, and cruise boats, to name a few. Some Engineers have worked their entire career here at Nichols Brothers beginning on the construction floor and moving up into an engineering position. Others have come from Naval Architect firms offering new and innovative engineering methods. Nichols has four Naval Architects on staff. The Director of Engineering is responsible for all staff members including: project engineers, drafts people, estimating, and engineering administration personnel.

Director Of Engineering

Mr. Walker is responsible for the management of multiple concurrent engineering projects ensuring vessel designs have complete functional and detail engineering packages for construction. He is supported by an experienced engineering manager and a highly qualified team of project engineers and detail design staff to meet respective project objectives including scheduled engineering information and project budget performance. Mr. Walker has worked in the maritime industry for more than forty years and prior to joining NBBB was the Sr. Naval Architect for A.K. Suda, Inc. for more than eight years managing the design of several jack-up/Liftboats and service vessels constructed in Vietnam and south Louisiana. Mr. Walker has been engaged with the marine industry since completing his apprenticeship with the Swan Hunter Group in England and receiving his HNC in Naval Architecture from Sunderland Polytechnic.
